Anchor Baby Movie Ending Explained

Anchor Baby movie ends with a tragic scene where Joyce is unable to get her baby from Susan even if she wanted to.

A few days after her baby was born, her baby receives a passport issued in the States. But when she checks the name, she finds the baby’s last name Backley.

Joyce becomes distraught, as she had never expected to be troubled by such an issue.

Susan tells her that she should consult her attorney. When she reaches to her attorney, he washes his hand out of it saying he can’t do anything.

But he gives an idea of Susan taking her baby back to Nigeria while she surrenders to the immigration office. Plus the attorney assures to talk to the immigration officer.

While Joyce, her baby, and Sarah come to the airport, Joyce goes to surrender to the immigration. When she surrenders, Joyce is handcuffed.

But when she asks when she will be sent to Nigeria, the officer there says that there is no name booked for her return back to Nigeria that day.

She says that the immigration officer should know about her but that person had passed in an operation a month ago and she doesn’t even her attorney’s name properly.

She is taken into custody and she tries to call Susan, but she responds without knowing about it and cuts the call. She tries to call again, but Susan has changed the number.

Revealed by the truth that she has been manipulated and her baby taken away, she is shocked not knowing what to do.

Steve comes out of a taxi. When he reaches the vehicle, he greets Susan and Joyce’s attorney John together. John thanks him and gives him a bundle of money. When Steve goes away, John and Susan also go away.

After riding someplace, Susan opens the vehicle’s door and throws her fake pregnancy stomach showing that she was never pregnant. While the entire drama of theirs was to take the baby away from Joyce.

Joyce, on the other hand has no idea what to do when she is escorted by officers to her terminal. When she looks at the other people’s children at the terminal, she can’t move as she misses her son and no tears come out of her eyes are blackened due to excessive crying already.

At last, a lonely mother just takes her step out of the door without her child in her embrace with her suitcase in tow. From the beginning, she has met Susan, she has been led to believe she was there to help her, and Joyce was manipulated to accept the help.

Now, the person who helped her has backstabbed her with such pain she doesn’t how to go on with it.

Will There Be Anchor Baby Part 2?

No, there will be no Anchor Baby movie part 2 or any additional movie based on it. The rest will depend upon the director Lonzo Nzekwe.

The movie ends with Joyce having to return to her country Nigeria. Meanwhile, her baby was abducted by Susan and her attorney John but she can’t prove that the baby was hers with the legal documents as all the child documentation is based on Susan’s.

Even if she can prove that she is the child’s mother, she can’t step back into America as she has been deported from the States and is prohibited to return.

There is almost no option for her to do anything but reminisce about her baby.

Due to such factors, the movie’s second part is almost impossible to create as the movie will have to be created on a factual basis. The director Lonzo Nzekwe will either have to make a separate new character with a similar story.

But there is no point in creating a movie with a similar story as the first counterpart.
