Juan José Soto Pacheco, nicknamed “Childish Bambino”, was born on October 25, 1998,  in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to his parents Belkis Pacheco and Juan Jose Soto, Sr. He was raised alongside two siblings an older sister and younger brother.

Juan Soto’s sister is Natali Soto Nicoles while his younger brother, Elian, is a third baseman and outfielder. His father, Juan Soto Sr is a salesman and was a catcher in a local men’s league.

Juan Soto initially signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent in July 2015 and made his professional debut in 2016 with the Gulf Coast League Nationals in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League. He made his major-league debut on May 20, 2018, becoming the youngest player in the major leagues at 19 years, 207 days.

Juan Soto was also named as the first player born in 1998 to appear in a major-league game. He was the runner-up for the NL Rookie of the Year Award. He also became only the fourth player in MLB history to record 100 extra-base hits before his 21st birthday on August 19, 2019.

Juan Soto also became the seventh MLB player in history to reach 30 home runs before their 21st birthday. He was selected to the MLB All-Stars Team for the 2018 MLB Japan All-Star Series on October 29, 2018.

Juan Soto won the National League batting title with a .351 average in 2020 and was a key part of the Nationals’ first World Series championship in 2019.
